1. Data controller
Wantr is an independent project. The data you provide when using the service is processed exclusively to run the price alerts described in this document.
2. What data we collect
Wantr only collects data you voluntarily provide:
- Email address: only when you create a price alert. Used exclusively to send you the notification when the price drops.
- Product URL: to monitor the price of the item you chose.
- Target price: the price threshold you set for the alert.
If you create a user account, we also collect your password (stored securely using an irreversible hash). We do not collect names or payment details.
3. How we use your data
Solely and exclusively to:
- Send you an email when the product price drops to the threshold you set.
- Show you the price history of the tracked product.
- If you have an account: display and manage your alerts and favourites from your profile.
We will never use your email for advertising, newsletters or unsolicited communications.
4. How long we keep your data
For alerts without an account: your email is automatically deleted as soon as the alert fires. If it never fires, the data is deleted after 12 months from its creation.
For user accounts: your email and hashed password are kept for as long as the account remains active. You can request account deletion at any time by writing to hello@wantr.io.
You can cancel any alert at any time using the link in the confirmation email, or from your alerts dashboard if you have an account.
5. Sharing with third parties
Wantr does not sell, rent or share your data with third parties under any circumstances. Data is handled internally and with the sole technical providers required for email delivery (Resend, as data processor), subject to their own privacy policies and with adequate safeguards.
6. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Rectify it if it is incorrect.
- Request its deletion.
- Object to its processing.
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at hello@wantr.io. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies and local storage
Wantr uses technical cookies and browser local storage to save your preferences. Additionally, Skimlinks is loaded for affiliate link management and may set its own cookies. When visiting the site you can accept all cookies or limit them to essential ones.

Preference data is stored on your device. Skimlinks cookies may be transmitted to their servers for affiliate management.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. The current version will always be the one published on this page with the update date shown at the top.
9. Affiliate links
Wantr participates in affiliate programmes managed by Skimlinks and AWIN. Some links to tracked products may be affiliate links: if you click and make a purchase, Wantr might receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.
This does not affect the prices shown or the price fluctuation analysis provided by the service. Affiliate commission is a project funding mechanism, not an editorial recommendation of products.
